Fall in Love with my New Vanity Bottles and the History of Perfume

Gemstone Perfumery Vanity Bottles Collection by Sage Machado

Perfumes were first introduced into Europe in the Renaissance period between 1300-1700. Only the royal and affluent communities were able to afford perfumes as they were so rare, costly and difficult to craft.  It is said that Catherine De Medicis, the wife of King Henri II, is the one who was responsible for introducing perfume and bringing it into fashion in France. Since the 18th century, Grasse is known to be the center of France’s perfume industry and the world’s perfume capital. The special microclimate in Grasse makes it the perfect place to grow aromatic plants that are used by the local perfume industry.

Established in 1926, Fragonard Perfumery is one of the oldest perfume factories in Grasse. What makes this perfumery special is that they have their own museum named Fragonard Musee de Parfum which holds rare items that are part of the 5,000-year history and art of making perfume.

I’ll never forget when I first learned this beautiful and intriguing past perfume holds. Whilst creating my NEW Vanity Bottles I set out to capture elements of this allure and majestic energy. This began by sourcing my beautifully decadent handmade glass ground stopper perfume bottles which are, of course, made in France! Each bottle has a handcrafted petite necklace with a gemstone charm to adorn it's matching scent which makes them entirely irresistible! My goal was to evoke your inner goddess each time you apply your gemstone perfume. They are available in two sizes - 1/4 oz and 1/2 oz. and are the perfect addition to your vanity table! They are the ultimate luxury for all perfumistas.

Onyx Gemstone Perfume Vanity Bottles by Sage Machado

A fragrance that is as darkly opulent as the stone for which it was named, Onyx begins with a bewitching top note accord of Black Coconut, Tobacco and Oakmoss. Its rich and enveloping base note accord of Vanilla, Amber and sheer Musk caresses the skin like sweet dew born of nocturnal, tropical air. A perfume of almost primeval intensity, Onyx evokes nature's beauty in its darkest forms; a jungle's depths, volcanic heat and velvety night skies.

Luxe and exotic, Onyx is for the perfumista who has it all and is sheer bliss in a bottle. It is thought to increase regeneration, happiness, intuition, instincts Onyx is a stone that offers up protection, strength, focus, and willpower.

  •  Onyx is the birthstone for July and the zodiac stone for Leo.
  • Onyx belongs the Earthy Fragrance Palette.

A 5-STAR REVIEW:

"Onyx is my absolute favorite. I've been wearing Sage perfumes for almost twenty years and love to mix them up, but I always keep coming back to Onyx for special occasions and days or nights when I want to be noticed. It's that same feeling you get when you're wearing a little black dress...."

Turquoise Gemstone Perfume Vanity Bottle by Sage Machado

People everywhere have cherished Turquoise, whether used as a decorative or protective amulet, a protector, or rain bringer. The blue stone with the cheeriness of the sunny sky has always been foremost a symbol of hope

  • Turquoise is the birthstone for December and the zodiac stone for Sagittarius.
  • Belongs to the Marine Fragrance palette

TOP-RATED PERFUME TESTIMONY:

"I don’t normally favour aquatic fragrances, but this is different. A little strong at first with the grapefruit and blackcurrant creating a fresh seabreeze, and these notes hold on for a bit. But soon, the white flowers appear with the Blue Chamomile and it becomes an almost ethereal potion with the sandalwood and musk slowly bringing out the warmth, like sunlight shimmering across the water and touching on lotus blossoms, with a hint of fresh green leaves. Not long after that, it begins to whisper to me...to come to the water. This is what a water nymph or a mermaid might smell like, or what she would wear if she wore perfume. Two paintings spring to mind when I wear Turquoise: “Hylas and the Nymphs” by John William Waterhouse and “Drowned Atlantis” by Norman Lindsay. If you look them up on Google, you'll see what I mean!"-BerryDelicious

Pearl Gemstone Perfume Vanity Bottles by Sage Machado

A lustrous fragrance that adorns the wearer with an aura of inviting beauty. Inspired by those captivating organic stones that oysters and mollusks have offered humankind since time immemorial, it is both delicate and enduring. The fragrance’s full, round base note accord of meditative Sandalwood and Fresh Musk accented with Warm Vanilla and fresh GreenMousse de Chene suggests the innocence and spiritual purity that pearls have long represented.

  • Pearl is the birthstone for June and the zodiac stone for Gemini.
  • Belongs to the Subtle Fragrance Palette.

Pearls are said to give the wearer a sense of calmness and centeredness, and to promote faith, loyalty, truth and purity. They can also enhance personal integrity. They have also been used in a number of cultures to connect with their "inner goddesses" and obtain the ultimate "feminine energy".

A GLOWING REVIEW:

“I had been looking for “my” scent for years. Spending hundreds of dollars on some expensive perfumes but never really being happy with them. Until one day I found Pearl in a shop and was hooked. This was it!!! I had found my scent! Its soft and musky and lingers throughout the day making me smile every time. Between Garnet and Pearl...I’m done searching.

Diamond Gemstone Perfume Vanity Bottle by Sage Machado

Using raw Diamonds as my inspiration behind this long-awaited fragrance, I was attracted to every other shade of Diamond. Not overly sparkling, not demanding immediate attention, not perceiving wealth, but rather the understated Diamond, slightly warmer, more unique and much more intimate. In the development and discovery of Diamond, I set out to represent all of these qualities and capture the unique and subtle essence of the raw Diamond, the much more mysterious and not so well conquered relative of the brilliant Diamond we all know.

  • Diamond is the birthstone for April and the zodiac stone for Aries.
  • Belongs to the Subtle Fragrance Palette.

A 5-STAR REVIEW:

“One of the sweetest, most satisfying things about this perfume is how it clings to fabrics, and every time my nose is near the collar and cuffs of my favorite sweater, that fresh expansiveness returns. It’s not the same living, warm scent as it is on skin, it’s the scent of frozen time. Memories on ice with a twist."

Moonstone Gemstone Perfume Vanity Bottles by Sage Machado

Like the opalescent gem for which it was named, Moonstone is a lustrous, incandescent fragrance of ethereal beauty. An intoxicating middle note accord of Gardenia and Paperwhites. These rest on a base note accord of Amber, Vanilla and Musk accented with Oak-moss and Tobacco Flower. The ancient Romans believed that moonstones were formed by the light of the moon. Lore that equally befits a fragrance that dances on the skin like liquid moonlight.

  • Moonstone is the birthstone for June and September and the zodiac stone for Cancer.
  • Belongs to the Light Floral Fragrance Palette.

A TOP-RATED PERFUME TESTIMONY:

"Moonstone, the perfume, the bottles, the baggie as well as the boxes they are packaged in are just exquisite. What a beautiful presentation. Not to mention I wake up to the scent of the perfume that has lingered on my pillowcase and sheets. Truly the most amazing perfume I have EVER had, and I have tried every perfume out there. This is such a find and a magical treasure! I LOVE LOVE LOVE! Thank you Sage!!"-Carrie Crisell
